Learn how to play bridge this winter

If you're like me and don't play bridge, then you are probably just as bewildered as I am when you read in the games section of the newspaper about the bridge hands that have been dealt to the compass points. Bids, passes, raises, trumps, tricks ... what could it possibly all mean?

Now is your chance to satisfy your curiosity and find out what this bridge playing is all about. Starting Monday, February 18, a bridge class will begin at the library, taught by Joseph Hendon. Mr. Hendon is a retired chemist and educator and an avid bridge player. He will conduct classes for beginners for 8 weeks.

  • When: Mondays and Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., February 18 - April 9
  • Where: Upstairs meeting room at the library
  • Cost: $30 (due before the first meeting)
  • Deadline: Monday, February 11
Included in the cost of the class is a book and various handouts.

For more information, please contact Library Director Donald Wathen at 826-3712.
