New "Tween the Pages" book club

You might've heard your parents or other adults talking about a "book club" or a "reading group," and the idea sounds interesting to you, but you're curious about what they are and what they do. It's really simple --- a reading group or a book club is just a bunch of friends who decide to read the same book and then get together to talk about it. All across the country these groups of book lovers are becoming very popular, so maybe you and some book-loving friends would like to join the library's new book club.

The book club will be called “Tween the Pages” and children in grades 3 – 6 are invited to attend. The group will meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm starting December 2, 2009. We will meet to discuss books like: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate Dicamillo, Granny Torrelli Makes Soup by Sharon Creech, Tale of Despereaux by Kate Dicamillo, Everything on a Waffle by Polly Horvath and many other entertaining, delightful and engaging books.

Books will be provided for all participants and each session will last for approximately one hour.
A light snack will be provided and the program will feature crafts and various other activities. You must be registered to participate and you can register by calling the library at (270)826-3712.
