What do I read when I've read everything by my favorite author

Everyone has favorite authors. You put your name on the waiting list the second you hear a new book is coming out and then count down the days until your phone rings with the news that your copy of the book is ready to be checked out. But sometimes that wait can last weeks, months, or even years. Sometimes the wait for a new book by a favorite author never ends because he or she is no longer writing.

To help ease the pain of waiting for the newest books from many popular authors, we would like to introduce Author Read-a-Likes. Author Read-a-Likes are published by Novelist (which is available in our Research Center) and are written by librarians from across the United States. Read-a-Likes take many popular and classic authors, analyze what it is about these authors that their many fans love, and then create a list of other books and authors that have similar plots, writing style, humor, or characters.

We have Read-a-Likes available at the Circulation Desk for dozens of Henderson County's most loved authors. Patrons who would like to view a list of all the Read-a-Likes, not just the ones popular in Henderson County, can access Novelist from any computer in the library or from home on our website. Author Read-a-Likes are updated monthly, so if you do not see your favorite author today, keep checking back!
