Database reductions - Phase 2

The Library has for many years offered access to the Kentucky Virtual Library, a product of the Council on Postsecondary Education. This department has been severely impacted by budget reductions applied to agencies due to decreased state revenues. Budget cuts have affected the Kentucky Virtual Library to the point that several databases have been dropped and will no longer be accessible.

The second phase of cutbacks has taken place and the following databases are no longer available from the library's website or the Kentucky Virtual Library:

  • Biography Reference Bank
  • International Index to Music Periodicals
  • ProQuest Computing
  • FirstSearch databases: ArticleFirst (OCLC) - PapersFirst; World Almanac; GPO Monthly Catalog; ProceedingsFirst; Clase and Periodica; ECO; Electronic Books; WorldCat Dissertations and Theses
These are valuable and timely research tools for students and adult learners alike and we regret that we are no longer able to provide access. If you have been a user of any of these databases and would like suggestions of alternate sources, please call or email the Library and we would be happy to help you. You may also wish to view our interactive guide to the Library's online resources.

Please visit our online Research Center to view all of our online databases and services.
