National Bike Month

May 2006 is the 50th annual celebration of bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation. Local activities will be held nationwide sponsored by bicycling organizations, environmental groups, PTAs, police departments, health organizations and civic groups.

Henderson residents can gear up for the 3rd Annual Pickin and Pedalin Bike Tour on Saturday, August 12, an event in conjunction with Bluegrass in the Park. Choose between 3 routes (12 miles, 36 miles, or 62 miles) and travel along beautiful, historic Main Street all the way to some of the flattest and best county roads a cyclist could desire. Rest stops featuring bluegrass entertainment, refreshments, and restrooms will be available.
