Downloadable eAudiobooks are here!
The Henderson County Public Library is excited to announce its latest online service, downloadable eAudiobooks. eAudiobooks are digital versions of audiobooks (a recording of a book read aloud) that are available through the Internet. eAudiobooks can be played on any compatible desktop, laptop, or portable device (e.g. MP3 player). Easy, accessible and transferable, eAudiobooks support the growing popularity of portable digital devices. They fit with today’s busy, active lifestyles and “multi-tasking” mentality.
Recorded in digital CD quality, the more than 1,300 adult and 300 children’s unabridged books are available 24/7 from any computer with Internet access. The growing collection contains bestsellers, classics, language study, and the complete Holy Bible. eAudiobooks are always available for download no matter how many times they have been “checked out.” No more waiting! But it gets better - there are never any late fees because eAudiobooks return themselves to the Library at the end of the loan period! And you never have to worry about lost, misplaced or damaged tapes or CDs.
To begin enjoying this great service you will need a valid library card from the Henderson County Public Library, a PC computer (Macintosh not supported), and a high-speed Internet connection. (For detailed technical specifications please see our website at www.hcpl.org/eAudiobooks.)
This service is the result of a partnership between NetLibrary and Recorded Books, and is made possible for the Henderson County Public Library through the generosity of the late Dorothy E. Walton. For more information, please call the Library at 826-3712 or visit our website at http://www.hcpl.org/.
