New bookmobile hits the streets

That brightly painted vehicle you see covered in books roving the streets and byways of Henderson County is none other than the library's new bookmobile! The people of Henderson County are fortunate to have such a nice vehicle to visit on its stops around town and in the county. Cheryl Mathias, the Bookmobile Librarian, keeps the vehicle stocked with the latest books and other library materials such as books on CD, music on CD, and movies too!

She can also answer your reference questions right from the bookmobile with the help of her Internet-enabled laptop. She is directly connected with the library with her laptop and can tell you what materials the library owns, what you have checked out and when they are due back to the library. Want to know if we can order a book for you? She can tell you right from the bookmobile if that item is available for order!

Mrs. Mathias and the bookmobile visit many places in Henderson and Henderson County including day care centers, schools, rest homes, apartment complexes, neighborhoods, and shut-ins. If you, or someone you know, would like for the bookmobile to stop at your home or in your area, please call the library at 826-3712. Click here for the current routes.
