Local author, Joey Goebel, to speak at Friends' meeting


The Friends of the Henderson County Public Library will hold their annual meeting on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Presbyterian Church located at the corner of Main and Washington Streets in Henderson, Kentucky.

The featured speaker this year is local resident and acclaimed author, Joey Goebel. He is the author of 2 works of fiction, The Anomalies and Torture the Artist. The Anomalies was a Book Sense 76 title selected by the nation's independent booksellers and was nominated for the Kentucky Literary Award. Goebel's second novel, Torture the Artist, was a finalist for the 2004 Kentucky Literary Award and made the long list for the Dylan Thomas Prize for 2006. He currently teaches English at the Henderson Community College.
Copies of his books will be available for purchase and autographing by the author.
The public is welcome and admission is free. Refreshments will be served following the program.
