When many people hear a book described as a Western, they often picture a John Wayne-esque hero, a damsel in distress, and a wild frontier in need of law and order. And while many Westerns fit this formula, many authors have taken these traditional themes and applied them to other genres such as Mystery and Romance.
During the month of June we are inviting our patrons to take a closer look at Westerns and the many ways a book can capture the unbridled spirit of the American West. So the next time you mosey on down, take a few minutes to browse the American West themed books we have on display.
