Our latest addition is not a book!

Through the generosity of the Chip Crafton family, the library has acquired a wonderfully preserved Great Horned Owl. The bird was found dead by Mr. Crafton on his farm and it has been mounted in a life-like pose by an area taxidermist. The owl is on display in the Children's Library - stop by and take a look!

We are proud to have an actual specimen of this great bird to complement the bronze sculpture of the Great Horned Owls in front of the library. The Children's Department is planning owl-related activities during the upcoming Spring Break, including an owl-naming contest! Watch this website for details.
